Still on the issue of farmland conflict between farmers and Investors, a stakeholders meeting convened today 20th November 2025 for the sole purpose of finding a resolution just as other similar cases were resolved in the past or are on the process of being resolved.
This case involves Birnin Yero community of Igabi LGA of Kaduna State and an investor who was given a title over farmlands being used by the locals which resulted in a peaceful protest embarked by the aggrieved party.
But as is the case with previous similar issues Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani ordered for a swift resolution that will be of benefit to all parties.
Steps have been taken to bring about a lasting solution which includes a stoppage of all work and development being carried out,Locals urged to desist from any form of protest, public disturbance and unkind language in any talk to allow for peaceful resolution.
Additionally farms are to be given on lease to local farmers on a yearly basis after an assessment has been carried and towns within the contested area will be titled and a buffer to be created.
The meeting was well attended by traditional rulers, security agencies and other critical stakeholders with the hope that all parties will exercise patience and maximum restraint until all has been resolved amicably.
