
In his continued commitment to justice and fairness for landowners in Kaduna State affected by land-related issues, the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has approved compensation for landowners in Giwa Local Government Area whose farmlands were acquired for the establishment of a modern market in the area.
As an agricultural hub, Giwa is expected to benefit significantly from the new market, which is designed to boost economic activities within the Local Government Area and neighboring communities.
The compensation package provided to the affected farmers include both monetary payments and the allocation of alternative farmlands that are considerably larger than those initially acquired. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that beneficiaries can continue farming activities, which remain the economic backbone of the Local Government Area.
The presentation was conducted by the Director General of KADGIS Dr Bashir Garba Ibrahim and was witnessed by State Government officials,The Executives of the LGA and Other members of the committee constituted by the State Government on the compensation issue.
Speaking while receiving their cheques some of the beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for what they described as a timely and compassionate intervention.
They also offered prayers for the continued success of the administration, describing it as humane, responsive, and consistently committed to addressing the needs and concerns of the people.
