Some management staff of the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service, alongside selected staff from various Local Government Areas of the state, today visited KADGIS as part of a broader study tour of Kaduna State’s revenue-generating agencies.
The delegation, accompanied by executive staff of KADIRS, explained that their visit was aimed at understudying Kaduna State’s revenue generation framework, which has distinguished itself as one of the most successful in the country. The objective is to gain insights into the strategies and operational dynamics responsible for this success, with a view to adopting applicable measures in Cross River State.
In his welcome address, the Director General of KADGIS, Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, highlighted the agency’s pivotal role as one of the state’s top revenue earners. He noted that KADGIS continuously seeks innovative and efficient methods to enhance revenue generation and collection for the benefit of Kaduna State.
Dr. Ibrahim further disclosed that the introduction of new programmes and initiatives is expected to significantly boost revenue generation, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth and development.
He also emphasized the strong collaboration between KADGIS and KADIRS, noting that the synergy between both agencies has been instrumental in blocking revenue leakages and closing operational loopholes, leading to improved revenue performance.
The delegation is expected to visit other key revenue-generating agencies in Kaduna State as part of the week-long study tour.
